- Cincinnati Bell will make a quarterly donation to an eligible school based on the number of new activations of certain Cincinnati Bell products and services by residential customers who subscribe to Cincinnati Bell’s Home Phone service and have at least one of the following other services with Cincinnati Bell. These include: Cincinnati Bell post-paid wireless line, ZoomTown, Complete Protection or DirectTV. All of these must be billed monthly on the same Cincinnati Bell bill. You must also have designated an eligible school at the time that a user registers for CB LEARN.
- Donations for services purchased by a CB LEARN customer will be based on the following donation plan for the 2008-2009 school year.
a. New post-paid wireless activation -- $100
b. New Zoomtown activation -- $40
c. New Unlimited Everything Bundle -- $20
d. New DirectTV subscription -- $20
e. New Home Phone -- $20
f. New Complete Protection Service -- $20
NOTE: Cincinnati Bell reserves the right to change or eliminate the donation plan at any time.
- A $10 donation will be made to the school for each “new and eligible” registered CB LEARN customer that designates their school for the donation.
- Only one school may be designated for each household. Schools must meet the following eligibility requirements:
a. To qualify for receipt of any donation, a school must be a primary or secondary school (K-12) located in a Cincinnati Bell operating territory having a 501(c)(3) or 509(a)(1) tax-exempt status.
b. To qualify for receipt of any donation, an eligible school must maintain its primary business services with Cincinnati Bell and cannot obtain communications services from a competitor of Cincinnati Bell that are the same or comparable to services available from Cincinnati Bell. In limited circumstances, Cincinnati Bell may waive this eligibility requirement for schools .
c. If applicable, all of the eligible school’s corporate accounts with Cincinnati Bell must be in good standing in order to receive the quarterly donation.
- Donation amounts begin to accrue when the school designation is processed.
- A registered customer’s account must be in good standing in order to qualify the school for a donation based on the products and services purchased by the registered customer.
- Cincinnati Bell will not make donations based on any registered customer who cancels his/her service prior to the end of the first billing cycle. School donations will only be made for accounts in good standing at the time donations are distributed to eligible schools.
- Checks for quarterly donations will be made payable to the school and paid within 90 days following the end of a quarter. For example: If a quarter ends on December 31st, a school would receive a check no later than March 31st.
- Checks will not be mailed to schools if the payout is less than $25. If the quarterly minimum is not met, the donation for that quarter will be forfeited.
a. Checks must be cashed before the expiration date on the check.
b. Checks are considered rejected if not cashed by their expiration date.
- School donations through the LEARN program are not tax-deductible by registered customers.
- Cincinnati Bell reserves the right to change discontinue the LEARN program at any time.
- Each school year begins on 7/1 of a given year – and ends on June 30th of the following year.
- Presently, CB LEARN users must register for each new school year. However, as with other details of the program, Cincinnati Bell reserves the right to change this rule at its own discretion.
- Schools must submit signed CB LEARN registration forms no later than 60 days following the distribution of registration forms within the school by the School Advocate. Forms submitted after the 60 day period will be considered invalid.
